安珠の長期にわたるプロジェクト“平安京” 遂に京都にて開催！

京都の源である平安京に焦点を当てた「Invisible Kyoto―目に見えぬ平安京―」。風水でいう四神相応に守られた平安京は、生と死が混在し、人々は見えぬ世界を信じていました。情緒豊かで想像力たくましい平安時代の人たちは、儚い命をどう生きぬいたのでしょう。伝承されている物語から平安京を写真で紐解きます。京都の伝統工芸や貴重な和紙を駆使して、80点以上の作品を展示。会場音楽は、細野晴臣氏がオリジナル音楽を制作。日本人の想像力と美意識、平和への願いが集結した平安京を “安珠の写真世界” でご堪能ください。
Focusing on Heian-kyō, the original name given to the ancient Japanese capital city of Kyoto, we bring you ‘Invisible Kyoto – The Unseen Ancient Capital’. In Heian-Kyō, a city protected in its geographic alignment to the mystical Feng Shui principals of ‘Shijin So-oh’, where life and death were deeply intertwined, it is no wonder that people began to believe in a world of unseen forces. How did the highly Imagination and emotionally powerful people of the Heian period confront the transient nature of existence? Here we unravel the passed down stories of Heian-kyō through the art of photography. Utilizing Kyoto’s traditional artisanship in conjunction with the refined art of Japanese paper, we showcase over 80 pieces of work accompanied by original music compositions by Haruomi Hosono. Please come and experience ‘The Photographic world of Anju’ in a city that brings together Japan’s strive for peace, the Japanese creative spirit, and sense of aesthetics.
安珠プロフィール
東京出身。ジバンシーにスカウトされパリコレなど、国際的なモデルとして活躍後、1990年『サーカスの少年』を出版し写真家に転身。広告、雑誌連載、文筆や講演、多ジャンルの審査員、ビジュアルプランから映像監督まで幅広く活躍。安珠写真展「Invisible Kyoto – Tokyo edition」をライカGINZA SIX(GINZA SIX5F/5月16日～9月24日迄)で開催。

Profile
After being scouted by Givenchy, the Tokyo born Anju began an international modeling career appearing in the Paris Fashion Week and other international modeling events. In 1990 she debuted as a professional photographer after publishing the photographic novel ‘Circus Boy’. Having an extensive portfolio that covers work in advertising, magazine columns, literary works, lectures, judging a range of photography genre contests, as well as involvement in visual planning and directing, Anju is a highly versatile artist. The Anju photo exhibition ‘Invisible Kyoto – Tokyo Edition’ will be Held at Leica Ginza Six (GINZA SIX 5F from March 16th to September 24th).
